Sing Street
Premise: Set in 1980 something in Dublin, Ireland, a teenage boy escapes his family and bullies at school by forming a band to impress a girl he likes.
Review: This movie spoke to me in so many ways. From the 80s music, to the punk inspired clothes, to the incredible script and actors, I truly loved this movie. John Carney has a way of cutting to the heart with his plot lines and characters. I believe this will be up for many awards especially Best Screenplay. The performance by Ferdia Walsh-Peelo was phenomenal, especially for a first time in major leading role.
Ratings: Half a Glass of Wine (so in other words LOVED)
Director: John Carney
Cast: Ferdia Walsh-Peelo, Aidan Gillen, Maria Doyle Kennedy
