Hell or High Water
Premise: A divorced father and his ex-con older brother plan an elaborate scheme to save their family's ranch in West Texas by robbing the very bank that was trying to foreclose.
Review: This was an excellent straight forward movie with a very simple plot. Action sequences that involved bank robberies and car chases, left you gasping for air and many times the banter between characters were very witty. Both Ben Foster as the criminal brother and Chris Pine as the long suffering divorcee give stand out performances. Jeff Bridges as retiring, curmudgeonTexas Ranger and his partner played by Gil Birmingham rounded out the stellar cast. The west Texas towns and their inhabitants were great supporting characters unto themselves. I predict there be several oscar nods including screen play, leading and supporting actor.
